Work Experience
Throughout my college career, I had the opportunity to work at Glasswater Creek of Plainfield as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). In this role, I had a lot of patient interaction and got to work in different departments. I also worked with administrators and other staff, which helped me see how everything connects. I also had the chance to work closely with my administrator and even step into roles like receptionist, which let me see how things run outside of jus being a CNA. Being able to be in different departments really opened my eyes and gave me exposure to both the clinical and management sides of healthcare. This experience helped me build strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills. It also helped me understand both sides of healthcare, which I know will be important for my future career in health services management.
I also had the opportunity to work at Westside Garden Plaza, where I gained a lot of experience working with residents and staff. I wasn’t only working as a CNA I also had the chance to come up with different activities for the residents and help keep them engaged.This experience helped me build my communication and creativity skills while working with different personalities. It also taught me how important it is to create a positive environment for residents. I feel like this experience helped me grow and will be helpful in my future career.
